What are ZEISS Gradient Polarized Lenses?
Gradient polarized lenses are a type of sunglass lens that has a gradient tint, meaning that the tint is darker at the top of the lens and lighter at the bottom. They also have a polarizing filter, which helps to reduce glare. This makes them a good choice for people who spend a lot of time outdoors, especially in bright, sunny conditions.
The gradient tint helps to reduce glare from above, while the polarizing filter helps to reduce glare from all directions. This can make it easier to see in bright, sunny conditions and can reduce eye strain.

I have a question- Can I get the Gradient polarized lenses in colors other than grey and brown? One place in the article says grey or brown and another place( same article) says a “ variety of colors”
Hi Donna- Currently the gradient polarized lenses are only available in brown or grey. You can get tinted lenses with a gradient without the polarization in almost any color though.
Thank you for your response regarding the colors available in the Gradient polarized.
I ordered the Gradient grey polarized for an aviator style and picked them up today . I really like them and want to get the brown also. Brown is lighter than grey to me and I think would be good for a more overcast day. I have a question concerning the brown polarized gradient- are they the same darkness as the dark( 90/40) non polarized brown? My eyes are fairly light sensitive.
Hi Donna- The Gradient brown is not quite as dark at the top as a 90% tint. It is closer to an 80% darkness at the top and 60% darkness at the bottom. This can vary a bit depending how the lens is able to be cut out based on your frame size and prescription.

What’s the gradient ratio for the gray? Is it 80/60 like the brown?
Are the lenses polarized horizontal and vertical or just vertical?
