„Messtechnik hautnah erleben“ – die neue Veranstaltungsreihe im ZEISS Metrology Center Garching ist Ende Februar gestartet. Die Veranstaltung gibt allen Interessierten einen Einblick in die vielfältigen Möglichkeiten der Messtechnik. „Ob taktil oder optisch, ob CT oder Oberflächenmessung – wir haben alles vor Ort und ermöglichen somit einen breiten fachlichen Austausch“, erklärt Carsten Gericke, Leiter der Niederlassung.

Expertenaustausch in kleiner Runde

Zu Beginn begrüßt Gericke die Gäste in zwei Messräumen. Dort stehen fünf unterschiedlichste Messgeräte bereit: Der industrielle Computertomograf ZEISS METROTOM, die Form- und Oberflächenmessgeräte ZEISS Rondcom und Surfcom sowie die zwei Multisensorgeräte ZEISS O-SELECT und O-INSPECT. Daneben stehen die jeweiligen Experten, um die sich schnell kleine Gruppen bilden. Sofort entsteht ein reger Informationsaustausch. Die Interessen der Gäste sind dabei breit gestreut: Einige der Gäste wollen sich über das Metrology Center und seine Dienstleistungen informieren, andere die aktuellsten Messgeräte live vor Ort unter die Lupe nehmen. Manche haben aber auch ganz konkrete Fragestellungen und haben technische Zeichnungen oder sogar Bauteile mitgebracht, um sie mit den Experten des Metrology Centers durchzusprechen.

Einfach mal ausprobieren

Einer davon ist Michael Feichtner, Konstrukteur Trailertechnik bei der KNOTT GmbH. Er interessiert sich besonders für die industrielle Computertomografie. Daher hat er direkt eines seiner Bauteile mitgebracht. Das Besondere an diesem Bauteil: Es ist komplett aus Gusseisen gefertigt, hat somit eine hohe Dichte und ist nicht perfekt für einen CT-Scan geeignet. Doch das Team von Carsten Gericke probiert es an diesem Vormittag einfach mal aus. Sie befestigen das Bauteil und stellen es in den ZEISS METROTOM. Dann wird die Power der Computertomografen nach oben gedreht. Bei 220.000 Volt ist die Dichte der Strahlen so hoch, dass sie das gusseiserne Werkstück tatsächlich durchstrahlt. Feichtner ist begeistert: „Ich bin bisher noch nicht wirklich mit industrieller Computertomografie in Kontakt gekommen. Aber ich finde es super, dass wir unser Bauteil direkt mal in den Metrotom packen durften, um zu schauen ob ein CT-Scan überhaupt möglich wäre.“ Nach der Veranstaltung lässt er weitere Bauteile in Garching, um in einem zweiten Test zu prüfen, ob auch diese Bauteile computertomografiert werden können.

Ausblick: Messtechnische Themen im Fokus

Zum Abschluss zieht Gericke ein erstes Fazit über die Premiere: „Mich freut es zu sehen, dass unsere Gäste ein so großes Interesse und auch konkrete Fragestellungen mitbringen. Der fachliche Austausch kann sie, aber auch uns nur weiterbringen. Ich freue mich schon auf die nächsten Veranstaltungen, die, im Gegensatz zu heute, alle unter einem bestimmten Schwerpunktthema stehen werden.“
