Anfang 2018 übernahm ZEISS die Mehrheit am italienischen Röntgenanbieter BOSELLO HIGH TECHNOLOGY. Warum ZEISS diesen Schritt gegangen ist und welche Vorteile die Kunden durch die Akquisition generieren, erklärt Dr. Petra Schmidt, Leitung des Field of Business X-ray bei ZEISS Industrielle Messtechnik.
Frau Dr. Schmidt, warum hat ZEISS die italienische Firma BOSELLO HIGH TECHNOLOGY übernommen?
BOSELLO bringt ein Portfolio und einen Marktzugang mit, den wir in dieser Artbisher nicht hatten. Der Fokus liegt bei BOSELLO auf der Prüfung von Alugussteilen im Wesentlichen mit 2D-Röntgenanlagen. Das italienische Tochterunternehmen bietet sowohl günstige Einstiegslösungen als auch vollautomatisierte Systeme zum Beispiel für die Felgenprüfung für die Fertigung. Durch diese Akquisition positionieren wir uns jetzt auch im Bereich der zerstörungsfreien Material- und Bauteilprüfung als Lösungsanbieter mit einem breiten Produktportfolio.
Was bietet ZEISS in diesem Bereich jetzt konkret an?
Neben ZEISS VoluMax und ZEISS METROTOM, den 3D-Lösungen, haben wir jetzt auch eine Reihe von 2D-Lösungen im Portfolio. Die von BOSELLO entwickelten Anlagen wie SRE MAX, WRE Thunder oder OMNIA überzeugen durch hohe Flexibilität und erlauben damit eine schnelle, einfache und kostengünstige Prüfung unterschiedlicher Gussteile – auch in der Linie. Für viele Anwendungsfälle ist das 2D-Röntgen daher auch heute noch die passendste Methode der zerstörungsfreien Bauteilprüfung.
Welche Vorteile haben Kunden durch die breitere Aufstellung?
Wir bieten Kunden jetzt aus einer Hand genau das Röntgenprüfverfahren an, das sie für ihre Qualitätssicherung und ihre Prozessoptimierung brauchen und bieten die für sie passenden Serviceverträge oder Trainings an. Mittelfristig werden unsere Kunden zudem davon profitieren, dass wir die Entwicklungskompetenzen beider Unternehmen gemeinsam nutzen. So können wir Expertisen bündeln und schneller innovative Lösungen entwickeln.
Welche Entwicklungen will ZEISS in diesem Bereich vorantreiben?
Berührungslose und zerstörungsfreie Qualitätslösungen sind ein boomender Wachstumsmarkt. Wir haben das sehr früh erkannt und entwickelten bereits vor Jahren messende Computertomographen. Darüber hinaus investierten wir in die Entwicklung von 3D-Inline-Computertomographen und brachten die ersten vollautomatischen Inline-Anlagen zur Marktreife. Mit BOSELLO arbeiten wir daran, die Computertomographie im industriellen Umfeld noch besser aufzustellen. Wir werden für die Automobilbranche, ebenso wie für andere Marktsegmente neue Lösungen entwickeln.
Wie wird BOSELLO derzeit in die ZEISS Welt integriert?
BOSELLO arbeitet zunächst noch weitgehend unabhängig, firmiert aber unter dem Namen „BOSELLO HIGH TECHNOLOGY – A ZEISS company“. Die Entwicklungsingenieure arbeiten jedoch bereits eng zusammen und definieren zukünftige Aufgabenfelder bzw. die gemeinsame Ausrichtung. Darüber hinaus profitieren die „alten“ BOSELLO Kunden von unserer globalen Sales- und Service-Präsenz.
