What does Zeiss mean to you?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best possible kit for doing what I love, and the confidence to rely on it every time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite product and why?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A close call! Either the Victory SF 10×32, which are the most ergonomically perfect binoculars I’ve ever handled, or the Harpia 95 ‘scope, which is the ultimate tool for seawatching and guiding….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favourite birding destination?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve been fortunate to travel widely in pursuit of birds and wildlife, but I’d still have to say there’s no place like home – the Yorkshire coast, here in the UK, is both comfortingly familiar and yet full of possibilities…. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you think is the most important aspect to teach children about nature?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think the most important thing we can do for kids is to give them the opportunities to enjoy nature – no matter where they’re from or where they live. If we keep it just for the privileged among us, we’re digging our own graves; without a sense of ownership and engagement, we can’t expect our kids to help save our wildlife and natural resources. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us more about your 500km run for Turtle Doves.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From May 2021, it’s the Champions of the Flyway #YearOfTheDove – a year-long campaign to help save European Turtle Doves across the Mediterranean flyway, which are threatened by extinction. I’m hoping to raise money by running 500km by the end of the campaign in spring this year and thus asking my community to donate, which will really help me push towards my target, especially on those cold and wet winter mornings….!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
