Special components for stable and flexible stylus systems

Features on a workpiece which are difficult to access can be reached with long styli and complex stylus systems. The stylus extensions used not only have to have the requisite bending strength in order to exclude measuring errors, they also have to be able to be securely interconnected in spite of the desired flexibility.
A good example of this is the ThermoFit Pro twist-proof system from ZEISS. This enables stylus systems to be easily and securely mounted without specialist knowledge. Styli can be oriented in any desired spatial direction with special spatial angle blocks. In addition to this, cone adapters provide the requisite flexibility. These can be easily adjusted by rotation and securely connected with three screws. Stability and flexibility of the stylus systems therefore go hand in hand.

Stylus systems play a key role in tactile metrology.
