Photographer Mary McCartney, daughter of Sir Paul McCartney, will be in Hamburg to answer questions about the shooting for the ZEISS Art Calendar 2014. She photographed the actors Alec Baldwin and Gemma Arterton, who played two lovers in New York. The result is 12 wonderfully romantic images, which grace each page of the calendar. The project was top secret until now, but on October 21 the veil will be lifted and the calendar will be presented to the public during an exclusive gala.

And since the new ZEISS Otus 1.4/55 lens is just as exclusive as this event, we’ve decided to combine the two. An outstanding photographer will have the opportunity to test the world’s best standard lens for SLR cameras in the northern German metropolis and check out its remarkable technical characteristics. The Otus 1.4/55 is synonymous for remarkable sharpness and high image contrast with almost no chromatic aberrations. It creates perfect image quality, even with an open aperture.

Reveal Hamburg from a new ZEISS perspective, through the eyes of the Otus 1.4/55, and be there when Mary McCartney presents the new ZEISS Art Calendar. Why are you the best photographer for this event? Why should we pick you? Send a brief description of your work, including an image that will convince us, to photo@zeiss.de. The closing date is October 17, 2013. The terms of participation can be found here.

  1. What a wonderful opportunity. Any chance for an event of this nature to befall upon Los Angeles?

I apologize to Zeiss, if I've already become persistent to the extent of an annoyance.

I would however like very much so, to shoot with this fantastic lens.

    Kind regards,
    Zsigmond

I get a notofication error telling me "Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550 5.2.0 RESOLVER.ADR.BadPrimary; recipient primary SMTP address is missing or invalid" - Just to mention: I would still oove to play around for a day with this baby!

    Dear Zeiss lens,

i am really shocked by the world brand new Otus F1.4 55mm. I just bought it few months ago. do you mean the only and only Otus 55 or is there a new Otus f1.4 mm. If new one (i don't hope so) will be such waste of money to buy your products knowing that you produce newer version every less than a year.
    pls confirm
    Sherif
